Scrap Easy: Building a Fabric Collage –
One Day Workshop

This is a process class that will help you find new ideas on how to use your leftover scraps. ┬áThe term collage derives from the French “coller” meaning “glue”. We will be working on design, not technique. Building the collage is an assemblage of different fabrics, thus creating a new whole. We will find our creativity through artistic imagining and play.

As Good As It Gets: Paper Piecing –
One Day Workshop

Paper piecing is a traditional quilting technique that’s been revived by today’s quilters. Paper block piecing consists of sewing pieces of fabric on to a paper foundation to form a quilt block. While this technique is most often used for miniature blocks, foundation piecing can be used for creating full sized quilt blocks as well. Using the foundation piecing technique to piece blocks allows a quilter to construct complicated patterns easily and accurately and is a very good way to use up small scraps of fabric. It helps the quilter create straight lines and near perfect results.

From Hobby to Business – Being an Artist

1 hour lecture
It is difficult for most quilters to think about making it a business or the depth of quilting as an art form. In this lecture, I talk about the creating a business and how acquiring some basic knowledge can help all quilters. The concepts I will be discussing are:

  • Time Management
  • Creative Process
  • Branding and Marketing
  • Business Model that best suits you
  • Organizing your business

In order for the audience to better understand how these concepts can help them, I prepared handouts for everyone and books for perusal. I will also bring quilts to show my progression.

Lecture Fees: The fee for Lectures is $250.00
