Scrap Easy: Building a Fabric Collage Quilt –
One Day Workshop
This is a process class that will help you find new ideas on how to use your leftover scraps. The term collage derives from the French “coller” meaning “glue”. We will be working on design, not technique. Building the collage is an assemblage of different fabrics, thus creating a new whole. We will find our creativity through artistic imagining and play. We will use the technique in Aisha’s book: Scrap Easy
Workshop Two
As Good As It Gets: Paper Piecing –
One Day Workshop
Paper piecing is a traditional quilting technique that’s been revived by today’s quilters. Paper block piecing consists of sewing pieces of fabric on to a paper foundation to form a quilt block. While this technique is most often used for miniature blocks, foundation piecing can be used for creating full sized quilt blocks as well. Using the foundation piecing technique to piece blocks allows a quilter to construct complicated patterns easily and accurately and is a very good way to use up small scraps of fabric. It helps the quilter create straight lines and near perfect results.
