Fortitude

Fortitude is an original designed art quilt by Aisha Lumumba. It is presently being shown in the North Charleston Fiber Art Festival which lasts through June 21, 2019. This quilt speaks of the ability of African Americans to soar in the face of difficulty. Even after the physical chains have been removed, our black gold enables us to still soar despite the invisible chains which express themselves as red-lining, housing discrimination, job discrimination, inferior education, subliminal indoctrination, bleaching cremes, substandard healthcare, late charges and more. Fortitude is our Black Gold.
